"It's A Keeper" English Wedding Sixpence

Something old, Something new,
Something borrowed, Something blue,
And a shiny Sixpence for her shoe!
This is the original version of the old and well know wedding rhyme. It was shortened to compensate for not having Sixpence coins readily available here in the U.S., and when the Sixpence was no longer minted in England after 1967, it became even less remembered.
 This is a very old tradition dating from Victorian times, if not earlier. Originally, the Father of the Bride placed a Sixpence in the left shoe of the Bride before the wedding. It was said to bring good luck and a lifetime of prosperity and happiness!
We are very happy to be able to help keep alive the tradition by offering genuine English Sixpence coins and unique "Keepers" which are perfect for presenting and storing the treasured token.
These make unique and excellent gifts that will be treasured for a lifetime! And
A  most appreciated gift for a wedding shower or even to put aside for the future weddings of children or grandchildren.  Often, with the year of the coin representing a meaningful date, such as birth years, previous weddings, etc., they are passed down through generations for an even more treasured memory.  
Each Sixpence coin and Keeper also comes with a little scroll explaining the traditions.

The unique little Keepers have fully removable, tight fitting lids that are decorated with an assortment of flowers, angels and girls.
